Keara and the Kitties

There is only one thing more exciting to Keara than her mommy. That's the cats. She loves them so much. When she catches sight of one of them she starts bouncing up and down, gets a really big grin on her face and starts snorting!! I don't think she realizes that they don't return her feelings. They will usually run away if they notice she is paying attention to them. Tigger is the most tolerant and usually won't run away until she gets close and every now and then is so desperate for attention he will let her get close enough for a touch. Which usually results in a tail pulling and a cat making a mad dash escape. I try to show her how to pet the kitties instead of pulling their fur out or yanking ears or tail, and sometimes she pays attention. Apparently it is more fun to grab and yank though, like with my hair. She has only been swatted once, by Tigger. He got her right on the top of her head, which she thought was hilarious (he didn't stick his claws out). So much for learning a lesson from it. I hope they someday get over the trauma of her infancy and become friends.

she looks like she has a comb-over in the 1st picture! Man is she cute! Little pixie ears...
We let Emily yell and terrorize Frank becasue he's a bastard and deserves it! He wakes Ava with his meowing in the middle of the night which wakes me so she can yank his fur and yell at him all she wants! Usually he's just happy to get the attention but sometimes he swipes at her.

We call it her mullet, a tribute to her German roots. The hair down the middle of the top of her head is about 4.5 in and the hair on the sides of her head is about 2.5 in. And around the lower back of her head is a fringe that is about 3.5 inches, with some shorter hair just underneath it. She used to rub her head back and forth a lot when she slept on her back, so she wore a lot of it off and also had a bald spot on the back for quite some time. The first time she saw the pediatrician here, he looked at her kind of odd and said she had really strange hair! He didn't seem to think my mullet joke was very funny.

I can't wait for the sides to catch up to the top so I can give her pigtails like Emily!
